 LARS LERUP/DEAN RICE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE/TEXAS
Lars Lerup is the Dean at Rice School of Architecture, Houston Texas. He is the William Ward Watkin Professor at Rice University. Born in Sweden he holds degrees in engineering (Sweden), architecture(UC Berkeley) and urban design (GSD, Harvard). He is emeritus professor of architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and member of the Swiss Foundation for the International Institute of Architecture in Vico Morcote. Lerup has written several books: Villa Prima Facie 1976, Building the Unfinished 1977 (also published in German), Planned Assaults 1987 (also published in Chinese) and his essays have been
widely published in international magazines. His latest book After the City was published in 2000 by MIT Press.

Er hat die William Ward Watkin Professur an der Rice Universität inne. Der gebürtige Schwede ist Inhaber von Abschlüssen in Ingenieurswissenschaften (Schweden), Architektur (UC Berkeley) und Stadtdesign (GSD, Harvard). Er ist Professor im Ruhestand für Architektur an der Universität von Kalifornien, Berkeley und Mitglied der Schweizer Stiftung des Internationalen Instituts für Architektur in Vico Morcote. Lerup hat mehrere Bücher verfasst: Villa Prima Facie 1976, Building the Unfinished 1977 (auch in Deutsch veröffentlicht), Planned Assaults 1987 (auch in Chinesisch veröffentlicht) und seine Essays wurden in vielen internationalen Magazinen veröffentlicht. Sein neustes Buch "After the City" ist 2000 bei der MIT Press erschienen.
