„We work on the overlapping of art, architecture and landscapedesign. We have grown from gallery exhibitions to large projects in the public domain where the private and the public meet. We built for example in rural landscapes, on highways, youthprisons and for the new department of education and culture.
From the beginning we worked from the desire to give our art a function. Not only an autonomous sculpture, but a living and growing work that reflects on the place where you are and the time that you're living in. We wanted to create time and space for focusssing attention. To give somebody an individual experience in a paradoxal situation. Sculptures that connect separated worlds. Not by changing the environment but through adding a function or a 'place of your own'.

2002 we build the Otium Leinewijk. This sculpture has been donated to a private person. The headline of a local newspaper said: Art Piece looking
for Resident. After having found her, she will maintain this dwelling-like structure and she will occupy the vast and empty surrounding landscape by her presence and her activities.

We wanted to present an image of the changing landscape (as you might know the Netherlands is a small country in which the entire landscape is constantly under construction) by offering some land and a dwelling, of which function and form in the coming years can change depending on the needs and ideas, deriving from the activities of the owner. In a country
where there is not much 'free'space, we also want to explore the boundaries
of legislation. To what extend can you occupy public domain through art before one is stopped.
